The video above was recorded in a Eikaiwa in Japan with a small class of 10-12 year old students.
Online compatible : No.
Age group : Fun for all ages
Preparation time : The time taken to print copies of the Appendix F
Number of players : Works equally well in groups as in private lessons
Objective : To be the player with the most points
Hand a copy of Appendix F and coin to each student and ask them to place their coins in the area of the board marked ‘start’. Explain to students that on the count of three they all shove their coins towards a scoring area. If the coin lands in an area with a point value they score those points. If the coin goes beyond the edges of the paper, they receive no points. Play a couple of rounds before totalling each student’s scores to find the winner.
For older students the difficulty of the game may be increased by telling students that if, after they have ‘shoved’ their coin, it touches one of the lines between the points, they also receive zero points.
PERMISSION IS GIVEN TO EDIT AND PRINT THE APPENDICES FOR USE IN THE CLASSROOM
