Snakes and Ladders

Online compatible : Yes - Unless each student has a dice, the fun of rolling is lost and students sometimes feel that they lack control over the outcome of the game, therefore consider other options. Rather than dice determining how far each piece goes, the teacher prepares a set of trump cards, removing all numbers but 1 to 6, and holds them up to the camera. The students then choose a card and their piece is moved that cards value along the board.

Instructions :

Divide the class into teams and give each team a counter. Have each team place their counter on the first square of the tail. Each turn teams roll the dice to determine how many squares their counter may proceed along the path. When a counter lands on an event square such as those pictured below, refer to the guide to establish what action the player must take. The winner is the team whose counter reaches the final square fastest.

PERMISSION IS GIVEN TO EDIT AND PRINT THE APPENDICES FOR USE IN THE CLASSROOM.
