ThE video ABOVE WAS recorded online using Skype software with a group class of 2 children aged 9-10 in Japan.
Online compatible : Yes.
Age group : Best played by students aged between 6 and 10
Materials :
Preparation time : None (Unless you wish to reduce the number of cards in
play, in which case 5 minutes would be sufficient to
arrange the desired number of pairs)
Number of players : Works equally well in groups as in private classes
Objective : To be the team with the most pairs
Instructions :
Split your class into teams. Lay all of the playing cards face down on the table. Ask one student from the first team to turn over 2 cards. If the cards are a pair of the same value, the team keeps the cards and has another go. If the cards do not match, it is the next team’s chance to find pairs. When all cards have been collected or when a teacher feels the game needs to end, each team counts the number of pairs they have collected. The winner is the team with the most pairs.
