Elimination Game

Age group : Best played students aged between 5 and 12

Materials :

  • Objects to scatter one fewer to the number of students, and of sizes large enough to be easily visible from a distance (Ping pong balls work well).

Preparation time : 5 to 10 minutes to prepare the objects

Objective : To be the team to score the most points at the end of the

game.

Instructions :

Divide the class into teams. Sit the students in the centre of the playing space. Count one fewer objects to scatter to the number of students in the circle with the class. Throw or place the objects around the playing space. On the count of three the students stand up and retrieve one object and return to the centre. The student left without an object is eliminated and must sit out the following rounds of the current game. With the remaining students again count one less object to the number of students and scatter those objects. Continue eliminating students for a few rounds and count how many of each team are left. Each remaining student scores a point for their team. Begin a new game with all students in the centre again. Play as many games as time permits, then when the game is finished count how many points each team has scored. The team to score the most points wins.
