Online compatible : Yes - Just as in "Snakes and Ladders", rather than the teacher rolling a dice to determine how far each piece goes, for greater student interaction the teacher may wish to prepare a set of trump cards, removing all numbers but 1 to 6, and holds them up to the camera. The students then choose a card and their piece is moved that cards value along the board.
Age group : Best played by students aged between 6 and 10
Materials :
Preparation time : Time taken to print a single copy of Appendix L, and an
additional 15 minutes to cut the cards from Appendix M
Number of players : Works equally well in groups or private classes
Objective : To be the team with the most points
Instructions :
Shuffle the legs cards, the body cards and the head cards and place them on the squares indicated in the centre of the board. Divide the class into teams and assign a counter to each team. The first team rolls the dice and moves their counter the same number of squares in a clockwise direction around the board. When a team lands on a legs, body, or head square, they take a card from the centre matching the square they have landed on. After taking their card the team passes the dice to the next team and it is their turn to
roll. If a team completes any combination of head, body, and legs their team has scored a point. The game ends when one team has completed a circuit of the board and returned to the first square. Teams now count their points. The team with the most points wins.
PERMISSION IS GIVEN TO EDIT AND PRINT THE APPENDICES FOR USE IN THE CLASSROOM.
