Age group : Best played students aged between 5 and 10
Material :
Preparation time : 10 to 15 minutes to materials and vocabulary flashcards.
Objective : To be the team to score the most points at the end of the game.
Instructions :
Split the class into two teams. Mark out a circle with rope or make a hoop at the centre of the playing space. Scatter flashcards around the hoop (leave lots of space between each card). Move teams to opposite sides of the playing space. Nominate a student from each team to play the round. The teacher says one of the vocabulary of the flashcards, and the nominated students race to find and stand on the matching flashcard. The first student to stand on the card is given the ball. Keeping both feet on the card, that student must shoot the ball into the hoop. If they are successful, they have won a point for their team. After the ball has been thrown, new students are nominated from each team and a new round begins. When all students have taken turns, or when the teacher decides that the game is ended, count the points for each team. The team with the most points is declared the winner.
